The Mosers

The Mosers is a trio that play a mix of Mose Allison songs and original songs from Denise Marie-guitars, vocals and hand percussion (from New Orleans, New Mexico, New York, The Netherlands) She's toured Europe and America with different bands and as a solo artist and made 5 CD's of original material. On drums, vocals and accordion-Marcel Koster (from The Netherlands).  He's performed on TV shows in Holland such as: Sonja Barend and Ivo Niehe, and played with Kees Korbijn and Trio Bill Naad to name a few. He currently plays with Denise Marie, Pierre van Duijl and others. He also played in Europe, The USA and China. On sousaphone- Patrick Votrian originally from Los Angeles, California but a long time resident of The Netherlands. He's played with Kiteman, De Kift, and Pierre van Duijl to name a few.  He's also toured around the globe with various acts.

Exploring the humour and clever wit of Mose Allison's songwriting the trio keeps a bluesy, jazzy, funky, gospel feel. This is combined with some choice original songs from Denise Marie that also touch on the challenges and beauty of today's world.

Denise Marie and The Blues Swampers

They play a mix of swampy blues and original songs from New Orleans schooled musician Denise Marie (guitars, vocals and songwriting). Classics from Earl King, Muddy Waters and Mose Allison to name a few.

Denise learned blues, slide and ragtime finger-picking at a young age.  She's played and recorded with a lot of great musicians in New Orleans, Santa Fe and The Netherlands and toured in The USA and Europe. She's made five CD's of her own songs.

On tenor sax we have the divine Pieter Ubbels (from The Netherlands) He's played with Denise and Marcel in various bands and with Trio Hasjee, Pierre van Duijl and The Flamingos to name a few. He's a busy guy.

Our favorite bass player has retired to grow certain vegetables and relax in his old volvo.  But we have other favorites, either Rick Henkelman (he’s played with Flaco Jimenez and other greats) or Harrie Mirck (Marcel’s main man in various bands) on upright bass, or Patrick Votrian on sousaphone. He's played with Kiteman, De Kift, and Pierre van Duijl to name a few.  He's also toured around the globe with various acts.
